LeaderMorphosis Decision-Making Workshop
Leadership is about decision-making. Group decision-making is the foundation of what a leadership team must do to drive company results. Despite its importance, leadership teams rarely engage in any training regarding the process of decision-making, assuming instead that a seat at the table comes with that skill in place. There is unequivocal evidence that the process of decision-making evolves as effective leaders rise to increasing levels of authority. It is also clear that public decision-making (group situations) can be far different than decisions made privately. This workshop advances the decision-making skills of team members and improves group decision-making process for the team. Our approach includes:
I. Pre-workshop Activities
Participants complete the Best Bean Coffee Shop case study and a series of Hogan assessment inventories.
- HPI – Five-factor assessment of personality characteristics associated with the bright side of personality
- HDS – An assessment of 11 characteristics that can derail or limit the success of a leader
- MVPI – An assessment of the characteristics that motivate a leader and drive leadership style
Completion of the Hogan inventories includes a 60-minute individual feedback session for each participant addressing the results of the inventories and emphasizing their impact on decision-making.
II. Decision-making Model
The workshop opens with a discussion of the LeaderMorphosis decision-making model. The model provides a deep understanding of the decision-making process and how to optimize individual and group decisions.
III. StyleViewTMResearch
Effective decision-making is different at each level of leadership and varies between public and private decisions. Ken Brousseau, Ph.D. pioneered decision-making research at different leadership levels and in public versus private settings. This session covers the research and the implications for decision-making.
IV. Impact of Personality
The results of the Hogan inventories completed as pre-work will be reviewed in this session with emphasis on their impact on decision-making.
V. Best Bean Case Study
The closing session challenges participants to address issues associated with the Best Bean case study. Participants examine individual decisions and discuss group dynamics with team-based decisions.
VI. Post-Workshop Activities
Participants complete the StyleViewTM assessment and a 60-minute feedback session on their results focusing on decision-making styles and implications for future performance.
